You know you're getting old when.....

It's been a difficult week.  Our Dad is rapidly approaching the end of his life and my sister and I have been taking turns to be with him.

​​To while away the hours when Dad's been sleeping, and to cheer ourselves up, we've come up with this light-hearted list of some of the signs that's you're getting old.

1. You've bought flannelette bed linen for winter. 
2. You start to think some of the gadgets advertised in the Sunday supplements might be worth buying.
3. You're finding a shoe-horn is helpful at times.  If you go for one of the long handled ones - you are definitely getting old.
4. People laugh at your mobile 'phone - and it has a predictive text option that you've switched off as you can't get the hang of it.
5. For the ladies - your panty liner becomes very important.
6. You have a pair of medium heeled shoes that you bought for a special occasion that haven't been worn as you opted for the comfy flats instead. 
7. For men - your eyebrows become so luxuriant they can be used as a comb-over.
8. You are considering booking a coach tour for your next holiday.
9. You can remember any of these:  Black and white TV; Sony Betamax, Telex machines, electric typewriters, queuing for the telephone box, Redifusion, adding  bottle of 'blue' to your white washing and string bags for shopping.  
10. You choose underwear for comfort and warmth rather than sex appeal.
11. You would prefer to cuddle up to a hot water bottle than a hot man/woman
12. You start saying things like 'When I was young.......'
